Shakya is a sculptor and graphic designer who has contributed to the jewellery design process. He has successfully completed his training in jewellery design process organized by Trade promotion centre. Prior to this, he served as a visiting faculty at the Department of Jewellery Design, School of Architecture and Design, Beaconhouse National University, Lahore.

He was a visiting faculty at School of Art, Qinghai Nationalities University, Xining, Qinghai, China in 2018. He has successfully coordinate Samyojan workshop on Art engineering through lost was metal casting at Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel, Nepal.

He is involved in other different art activities apart from teaching.
